A full time career in social housing in London, Manchester and Liverpool has made me curious about why landlords know so little about the properties they own and manage.

Typically such records as are held are distributed across many systems, spreadsheets, and databases and extracting the precise information at the precise time its most needed is an unenviable job.

As one property manager put it to me:

If only our buildings could talk to us – tell us what’s going on. What a difference that would make.

Well now buildings can “talk” and I can show the difference that will make.
